Gardai in Co Louth have confirmed that an elderly woman aged in her 70s has sadly passed away after she was involved in a collision with a truck in Dundalk on Tuesday evening.
It is understood the woman was killed after she was struck by the truck in Mourne Vale just off the Avenue Road.
Gardai say the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the truck was uninjured in the collision.
They added that an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
