In a truly heartbreaking story a four-year-old boy has sadly passed away after an “incident” at a swimming pool in Cumbria.
It is understood the young boy died following an accident at Old Park Wood holiday park in Grange-over-Sands at approximately 4.40pm on Monday afternoon.
According to Cumbria police the young boy was quickly taken to Furness General Hospital before he was later transferred to Liverpool’s Alder Hey Hospital where he was said to be in a critical condition.
However sadly late yesterday evening a spokesperson for the police said the young boy passed away.
In a statement, the force said: “Police can confirm that the four-year-old boy involved in this incident has sadly died.
“Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident but the death is not being treated as suspicious. “Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.”
