Tragic: Leading Hollywood stuntman dies aged 33 after suffering serious injuries after falling during filming of the hit TV series The Walking Dead

A well respected stuntman in Hollywood has sadly died following a freak accident during the filming of the hit US series The Walking Dead it has been revealed.

According to reports stateside the well respected stuntman John Bernecker, sadly lost his life after he fell and suffered a serious neck injury during the filming of the AMC show.

Bernecker aged 33 had reportedly been fighting for his life on a ventilator over the past 48 hours after he was immediately airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center on Wednesday.

However the popular entertainment website TMZ has now reported that he died on Thursday night as a result of his injuries he sustained in the fall.

It is believed that Bernecker broke his neck after a fall from a great height however he was still breathing and conscious after when paramedics arrived.

In a brief statement AMC confirmed that filming for the show has since been canceled and that Bernecker’s wife who is also a stuntwoman was at his bedside before he tragically passed away, they also expressed their deepest sympathies to Bernecker and his family.

The stuntman who is thought to be well respected by producers and actors alike in Hollywood worked on a number of different projects with his most recent credits being 20th Century FOX’s Logan movie and Marvel’s The Black Panther movie.
