Gardai in Co Cavan have confirmed that a man aged in his 50s has sadly died following a house fire on Wednesday night.
It is understood the man sadly passed away after the fire broke out at his home in Derrylurgan area, in Ballyjamesduff at approximatley 3am on Thursday morning.
Gardai say they are currently awaiting the results of a technical examination in order to determine the cause of the blaze.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
