Gardaí in Co Leitrim have sadly confirmed that a man aged in his 80s has died in a road traffic incident on Thursday.
It is understood the elderly man was killed when the tractor he was driving hit a ditch in Leckaun, at approximately 1pm on Thursday afternoon.
Gardaí say the man was sadly pronounced dead a short time later despite the best efforts of emergency personnel.
They added the man’s remains have been taken to University Hospital Sligo where a post-mortem examination will take place.
