Tragic news this afternoon, as it has been confirmed that a man has sadly lost his life in a workplace accident in Co. Laois this morning.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, fell while carrying out repair work at a property in Portarlington.
He was rushed to the Midland Regional Hospital at Portlaoise, but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident is ongoing.
