According to various reports an one-year-old boy has tragically died after a small boat carrying group of migrants to the Greek island of Lesbos from Turkey began to sink on Friday morning.
The sad news was confirmed by the Greek ministry of shipping last night, who say the young child was on board a dinghy with 55 others believed to be Syrians, when the vessel suddenly began to take on water as it approached the shore of Lesbos.
The young boy was reportedly found unconscious by the coast guard patrol boat a short time later, who tried desperately to revive him. It is understood the remaining passengers were uninjured when they were rescued.
