It is believed the infant who was found dead at the scene was left in the car for a number of hours and she was only discovered by her mother when she stopped off at a gas station before heading to dinner.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:30pm on Friday afternoon, has now led to the distraught mother’s arrest and she has been officially charged with negligent manslaughter.

Police say the infant was left undetected as the car seat which was located in the rear of the car was placed pointing backwards.
