A seven month old baby has tragically died after a dog attacked the infant at a family home in Hesse Southern Germany.
The horrifying dog attack which is the second to occur in the country within inside a week, happened in the town of Bad Koeing on Monday.
According to local media reports the young infant sadly died after the dog which is believed to be a Stafford Terrier mix bit the baby on the head causing the infant to suffer serious injuries.
Although the baby was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital, police have confirmed that the baby died on Monday evening.
Officers investigating the tragic incident say they are unsure as to why the dog which was a family pet attacked the baby. They also revealed that both parents had to be sedated for shock following the heartbreaking incident.
The incident comes less than a week after a Staffordshire breed dog named Chico killed a woman and her son at an apartment in Hanover.
