The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed today that an Irish teenager has sadly drowned whilst holiday over the weekend.
It is understood the teenage girl drowned in a swimming pool on the Greek island of Crete.
A spokesperson fir the Department has said the girl was tragically found in a swimming pool yesterday afternoon.
They also say they are currently providing consular assistance to the deceased girl’s family.
