A thread year old boy is currently in serious condition in Temple Street Children’s Hospital after he fell from the third floor of an apartment complex in Co Longford earlier today.
Gardai say the young boy was transferred to the hospital after doctors at Mullingar’s Midland Regional Hospital requested that he would receive further treatment in Dublin earlier this afternoon.
According to reports it is believed the infant suffered serious head and back injuries after he fell from the third floor of the building which is located at Cuirt An Oir on the Athlone Road in Longford town at around 11am this morning.
It is understood emergency services arrived quickly to the scene and rushed home to Mullingar’s Midland Regional Hospital were doctors helped stabilise his condition before he was transferred to Dublin for further treatment.
Gardai say they are currently investigating the incident but they believe the boy suffered his injuries as a result of a freak accident.
