Tributes have poured in for 22-yr-old Philip Leahy who died after getting into swimming difficulty last Wednesday in the United States.
The student from Ballyhooly in Co Cork, was on a J1 visa in Ocean City, Maryland when he got into difficulty swimming last Wednesday while swimming with three other friends.
Mr Leahy’s widower mother and two brothers travelled to America to be with him for the past number of days.
Some €20,000 was raised to support the family but tragically they were at Philip’s bedside when he died in hospital last night.
