Tragic: Wexford community in mourning after a 14 year old girl dies during a Gaelic football match




The people of Gorey Co Wexford are in shock today after a 14-year-old girl tragically died during an underage Gaelic football match yesterday evening.

The young teen named Ciara Ryan sadly lost her life whilst playing a match with Kilanerin GAA Club, Gorey, Co Wexford yesterday evening. It us understood the young girl became ill during the game, complaining of a headache, before she fainted on the field.

Early reports suggest Ciara tragic death was caused by a suspected brain haemorrhage, she was quickly attended to by a paramedic who was watching the match from the sideline and delivered first aid on the scene. It is understood that a local doctor also arrived within minutes.

The young girl was then take by ambulance to Wexford General Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
