Gardaí in Co Galway have sadly confirmed that a woman aged in her 50s has died in a road traffic incident outside Ballinasloe.
It is understood the woman was killed when she crashed her car at Lismanny, Laurencetown, on the Eyrecourt to Ballinasloe Road, at approximately 10.20am this morning.
Gardaí say the 56-year-old woman was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no one else was injured in the incident.
It is understood the woman’s remains were taken to University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem examination will take place.
