A trainee Garda officer has been suspended from his duties after it was uncovered that he appeared in a pornographic film.
According to RTÉ News, the man who has not been named has been suspended from his role in order for a full inquiry to take place.
It is believed the movie in which the man starred was made before he joined the Gardai and that it could be over 10 years old.
Although the movie is believed to have involved consenting adults, the man who apparently appeared in the movie with a number of women and men was in his late teens when it was filmed, but he failed to mention it on his Garda application form.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said the male Garda will be suspended from his duties pending a further inquiry.
