A Norwegian Air Shuttle flight en route from Florida to Copenhagen had to divert to Shannon after the pilot fell ill.

It’s understood that the man suffered a seizure.

The plane was cleared to land in Shannon, and the pilot, a 51-year-old man, was removed by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick.

The flight resumed its journey at 1.30pm, as there was a third pilot on board.
