Transatlantic flight forced to land in Shannon Airport after passenger falls ill




According to reports this afternoon a transatlantic flight was diverted to Shannon Airport this afternoon after a passenger on board became ill.

The man became ill on flight American Airlines AA-755 which was travelling from Paris to Philadelphia when it was forced to turn around and land in Co Clare.

There were reportedly 97 passengers and crew on board airliner. Fire and ambulance crews were said to be standing by for the aircraft when it landed safely at approximately 2.40pm.

The ill passenger was then quickly transported to University Hospital Limerick for treatment
