The Transport Minister has slammed those who sent eviction notices to a number of tenants at an estate in Tyrellstown, labeling them “inappropriate and unfair”.

The news comes after 60 tenants at the Cruise Park estate in Tyrellstown, west Dublin, were told to leave there homes by a vulture fund who purchased the estate after developer was forced to sell because of a substantial debt recently. The latest eviction scandal has left around 200 further families fearing they’ll lose their homes.

The appalling letters has angered Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe who said the letters were completley unacceptable, Mr Donohoe said: “Regardless of why they sent that letter, and I find that kind of terminology, that kind of approach to people unacceptable to people, given everything that families have gone through in our country.

“But this is why it is so crucial for people to be aware of what their rights and responsibilities are. “We have strengthened legislation in place to deal with these matters regardless of who the bank is.”
