Irish born actress Maureen O’Hara has been laid to rest today in a private ceremony this afternoon in Arlington National Cemetery.

O’Hara who is probably most fondly remembered for her role starring opposite the legendary John Wayne in the Quiet Man, was laid to rest beside her loving husband Charles Blair.
Ms O’Hara’s funeral service was attended by close family and friends at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church near Washington, DC who paid tribute to the actress, who was described as “witty, humorous, beautiful, compassionate, outgoing, strong-willed, courageous with the fiery spirit of the Vikings and the untameable spirit of the Normans with a little smidgen or pinch of eros — all the qualities that one would expect in any Irish colleen.”
