There was some sad news announced in the past few hours as the family of Irish actress Doreen Keogh confirmed her death.
Keogh who is best remembered for her roles on Coronation Street, Father Ted and The Royle Family, sadly died on New Years Eve aged 91.
In a brief statement Keogh’s family confirmed that she died peacefully at her home on New Years Eve.
The actress played Coronation Street’s first barmaid Concepta Hewitt back in 1960, she is also remembered for her roles in Father Ted and The Royle Family in which she played Mrs Dineen and Mary Carroll respectively.
