Tributes pour in for promising 19 year old rugby star from Gorey who tragically died from a heart attack on Sunday




A number of tributes have poured in after the sudden death of a 19-year-old rugby player man on Sunday morning.

The young man named Chris Martin, sadly passed away after he suddenly took ill at his home at Grattan Court, Gorey at approximately 6am on Sunday, when he suffered an asthma attack followed by a heart attack. Sadly after a number of efforts by his family to revive him, and by paramedics, sadly lost his life. Chris’s older brother Tommy was the first to pay tribute younger brother, saying: “He was my right-hand man. We did everything together.” “He was the life of the party. He was literally my best friend. He was everything. He was kind. He was the greatest kid you’ll ever come across.”

Other Mourners also spoke of how young Chris loved rugby and, of how had a promising career in the sport after joining the UCC Buccaneers. Chris only completed his leaving certificate at Gorey Community School last June and he was described by teachers at the school, as having embodied the ethos of Gorey Community School when he was a student there.
