At 4:45am yesterday morning, a car crash occurred in Dreenan, Ballbofey, where 19 year old Kym Harley was killed.
Kym was a former student of St Columbia’s College. After just turning 19 and celebrating her birthday last weekend with friends, died after the accident. Kym was a passenger in the car when it hit a ditch.
The driver of the car managed to avoid serious injuries and is being treated for shock.
Being the daughter of a well-known country councillor Martin Harley, tributes had been pouring in. Kym worked in her father’s bar ‘Cheers’ in Ballbofey.
The tragic death has left the community in shock. Kym’s family are well-respected around the community.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses who seen the crash and to come forward.
