Trolley crisis: Almost 8,000 people were left to languish on trolleys and chairs during the month of September

The trolley crisis at Irish hospital continues, as new figures reveal that almost 8,000 people received medical treatment while on trolleys and chairs during the month of September.

The figures show that 7,765 patients admitted to hospital were treated either on a trolley or a chair.

Chronic issues of overcrowding and understaffing have plagued Irish hospitals for some time, and the coming winter is likely to make things even worse.
