London to New York Virgin Atlantic flight forced to return after unidentified laser beam was pointed at plane

It has been confirmed in the past hour that a Virgin Atlantic flight travelling to New York has been forced to return to Heathrow Airport London, after a laser beam was pointed at the plane.

The unidentified laser caused panic in the cockpit after one of the pilots sustained a medical problem following the incident, which reportedly happened about seven miles west of Heathrow Airport. Earlier reports say the laser had obscured the pilots vision, which caused the Flight VS025 to JFK to return to Heathrow.

Thankfully all passengers who were on board the Airbus A340 are safe and well.
