The death toll of Irish citizens killed in the Sousse beach resort has risen to three.
It has been confirmed that a married couple from Athlone also fell victim to the militant’s gunfire.
Named locally as Laurence and Martina Hayes, both in their 50s, were on holidays in the resort last Friday. The couple have one daughter, Sinead (30), and lived in Athlone’s West Lodge estate.
The total death toll of the massacre rose to 38. The gunman, 23-year-old student Seifeddine Rezgui, was shot dead by police forces. The getaway driver remains at large.
