Viewers will be seeing more than double as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Eddie Murphy and Danny DeVito are set to play triplets in a long delayed sequel to 1988 comedy hit ‘Twins’, that is to be called ‘Triplets.’

The idea for finally making ‘Triplets’ has been floating about now since 2012, but with Arnold having wrapped up ‘Terminator Genisys’ and zombie film ‘Maggie’ it is believed that this movie is his next big project. He always said he would be back!

Danny DeVito may have been hinting at this too, as he posted a Tweet on Arnie’s birthday on 31st July saying, “Happy B day Julius you low forehead! Love, Brother Vincent.”

Directed by Ivan Reitman, the 1988 film is one that is about a physically perfect but innocent man Julius Benedict (Arnie) who goes in search of his long-lost twin brother Vincent (DeVito), who turns out to be a short small-time crook. The film played up to how different the two men looked.
The plot outline for Triplets appears to be that Julius and Vincent Benedict discover they have a third sibling, after their mother’s will is read out and they set out to find him. Hilarity is sure to ensue!

Eddie Murphy (54) and Danny DeVito (70) will be in the shadow of larger action star Schwarzenegger (68) for this film, but they are well established as comedy actors so should share a twin portion of the spotlight.
Schwarzenegger has always been proud of his role in Twins, as it marked a departure
from being type cast in action roles and it proved to be a huge hit.

He was so eager to get it made that he proposed in his pitch to Universal to do it for no fee.
“I’d never realised moviemaking could be so much fun when you are not covered in freezing jungle mud or getting beaten around by mechanical snakes. I got to do things on camera I had never done before,” Arnie said about the movie in his autobiography ‘Total Recall.’

He was always eager to make a sequel and it seems his wish is coming true. He has said online that Eddie Murphy ‘loves the idea.’ While details for the new film remain scant, it is fair to say that it will have a harder battle to make it to the top, as the original was made over 20 years ago and is not as well-known as the other big movies in Arnie’s career. The action star is also set to flex his ageing biceps in a third Conan the Barbarian film, tentatively titled ‘The Legend of Conan.’ Maybe three is the lucky number!
