Gardaí in Dublin have confirmed that two men have been arrested following the hijacking of a taxi in Dublin early this morning.
According to brief Garda statement the two men aged their 20s and 30s respectively were arrested after Gardaí received a call alerting them about the hijacking which occurred on the Ballboggan Road at approximately 2.30am.
It is understood Gardaí managed to catch the individuals after the vehicle, a Toyota Avensis, was spotted on the M50 near Mellows Crescent, Finglas.
Gardaí say the two men were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Finglas Garda Station.
