Gardaí in Galway City have arrested two men in connection with the assault of a man in the early hours of this morning.
The arrests come after a man aged in his 40s was attacked at approximately 3am at Riverside, in the Woodquay area of the city.
Gardaí say the man was taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment, but it is believed his injuries are not life-threatening.
They also say two men have been arrested and are currently being questioned by officers.
