Two men have been praised for their heroics after they prevented a car jacking in Dublin this morning.
The terrifying incident which occurred on the Alfie Byrne Road in Clontarf, at approximately 10am has subsequently resulted in an arrest.
It is believed that two men managed to tackle a man after he tried to steal a car from a female motorist whilst she was sitting in traffic.
According to a number of eyewitnesses the would be thief was halted in his tracks, when two passers-by managed to tackle him to the ground and detained him until Gardai arrived.
Gardai have since arrested the man and he is currently being detained at Clontarf Garda station.
