Two more Muslim men in the UK have been jailed for terror offences after being convicted for running a website which promoted radical Islam and encouraged terrorist attacks.

Muhammad Abdur Kamali (31) of Rochdale, and Mohammed Abdul Ahad (38) of north London, each received sentences of four-and-a-half years at the Old Bailey which heard that the website featured material published by Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State.

The two jihad promoters were put under police investigation in 2016 after a 20-year-old woman who was herself under investigation by terror police was found to have been accessing the website.

The men were then arrested in March 2017 for their role in running the website while in June 2018, Ahad was further arrested for possession of a propaganda article which gave instructions on how to assemble an AK-47 rifle.

The website the pair ran was called “Kamali” since 2011 and was described in court as promoting “toxic ideologies”.

In statement following the sentencing the head of the Met Police’s counter terrorism command, Richard Smith said:

“We quickly identified the two offenders in different parts of the UK.
Police rely on information from the public and I would remind everyone to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to police, whether that be online or in the real world.” The BBC reported.
