The U.S. Justice Department has begun an investigation into the killing of a man pinned to the ground and shot in the chest by two white police officers outside a supermarket in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The brutal shooting was captured on video and it shows Sterling, 37, being held down by two officers before being shot five times at close range. The shocking footage also shows the two officers removing an item from Sterling’s pants pocket as he was dying.
Reports in the U.S. say Sterling was set upon after police authorities recieved a call alerting them that a man was brandishing a gun outside the store.
