The ‘interim’ USC, introduced at the height of the financial crash in Ireland, is here to stay, despite promises to the country by Fine Gael.
So stated Micheal Martin, who believes the USC will remain due to the uncertainty brought about by Brexit and other factors.
The USC became a cash cow for the Government, at the taxpayer expense.
In yet another blatant example of the Government’s dismal record on telling the truth, Mr. Martin calmly added “It (phasing USC out) can’t happen. In our view, that is something that was said ‘in the heat of an election battle’. That was never going to be realised.”
