Controversial transport company Uber will no longer be allowed to operate in London from the end of this month.
The London transport authority, Tfl, has confirmed that Uber’s 4-month temporary licence will not be renewed after it expires on September 30th.
The authority has quoted concerns about “public safety and security implications”, deeming the service ‘not fit or proper’.
Uber has announced its intention to appeal the ruling, claiming that Tfl has given into lobbyist groups with vested interests in Uber’s demise.
The ride-sharing firm carried around one million passengers during its four-month stint in the British capital.
