Theresa May called a snap election and it may well have backfired on Tory’s new leading lady.
Labour’s Jeremy Corbyn has surprised even the ardent Labour voters by seemingly producing a very decent showing by anyone’s standards. His extreme left leaning policies seem to have resonated with voters in certain constituencies and it has driven the Labour vote up dramatically.
We’ll know more as the night goes on, but as it stands now – the early predictions and indeed the exit polls show the UK could again be facing a “hung parliament”.
