A court in the UK has jailed a pedophile who brutally raped and abused an eight-year-old girl four times in a single day.

The harrowing story only came light after the brave little girl somehow found the courage to write letter to tell of her horrific ordeal. York Crown Court found 25 year old Adrian Rennie, guilty of rape and have sentenced him to 10 years in prison. It is believed that Rennie swore the young girl to secrecy but the heinous crime came to light after she somehow found the courage to tell a relative.

It is understood that the young girl now aged 12, sent a letter to a judge describing the ‘unspeakable’ ordeal Rennie subjected her to. York Crown Court heard of how predator Rennie visited her home and repeatedly abused her up to four times in the space of just one day.

Rennie, from York, had strongly denied the charges of rape, attempted rape and two charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity but he was convicted an all counts by a jury on Tuesday afternoon. Rennie was sentenced to ten years in prison by Judge Stephen Ashurst who labeled him as a “very serious offender”.

Justice Ashurst told Rennie: “What you did to her has caused her very considerable suffering. It is plainly going to take her a long time to get over these events.”

Meanwhile Detective Constable Theresa Wright of York police told the court: “Adrian Rennie has quite rightly been jailed for committing some truly unspeakable actions against a young child. “The court process is difficult for anybody to deal with but is particularly difficult for young children. “The victim has shown great courage throughout the proceedings.”

Justice Ashurst made a final statement before Rennie was taken into custody saying the offences had deeply devastated people close to Rennie, those closest to him found it difficult to understand why someone they saw as a friend and supported had behaved as he did.
