Update: Good news in Manila airport – pilot confirms terrorism threat to be an accidental “false alarm”

In what was suspected to be a possible hijack situation in Manila airport in the Philippines after a Saudi Airlines jetliner had been isolated after the pilot was heard shouting on the radio “plane under threat” has proven to be star is being described as an accidental false alarm.

The plane, identified as SVA 872, landed at Manila airport at 3pm local time. It arrived from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. According to local ABS-CBN channel, there was around 300 passengers onboard.

Emergency services immediately rushed to the scene but thankfully were not needed and passengers are currently disembarking the airplane.
