US President Donald Trump has ordered the declassification of the FISA warrants and other documents that were issued to spark the massive but as yet fruitless Trump-Russia collusion investigation, CNN reports.

A FISA warrant is a warrant granted under extremely secretive conditions that allows US law enforcement and intelligence organizations to spy on American citizens suspected of giving clandestine aid to foreign powers.

The US President has ordered the Department of Justice to release all text messages related to the Russia investigation with no redactions including those of former FBI director James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Bruce Ohr and disgraced FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

Elements in the US intelligence apparatus are fretting over this action and there is reportedly a sense of panic in Washington DC at what these documents and texts may reveal, Business Insider reported.

Trump’s move to expose what he sees as a plot to undermine hi administration has caused such within the so-called ‘deep state’ and D.C establishment that the FBI and DOJ are even attempting to circumvent a direct order from their Commander in Chief by submitting proposed redactions to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, The Hill reported.
