US financial firm Citi are set to create 600 jobs in Belfast

There was more good news on the job front as US financial services company Citi is understood to be creating 600 jobs in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter.

The company say the new jobs will be created in a variety of areas, including legal compliance and human resources. Citi claim  the jobs will have the average salaries of £35,000 (€44,000).
The company currently employs 1,500 people in Belfast.
Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson welcomed the news by saying: “The financial services sector is at the heart of the economy and the decisions and transactions that take place in Belfast will impact across the globe.”

Meanwhile the Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness also welcomed the recent announcement by saying: “This significant expansion by the corporate giant Citi will inject over £21 million of new salaries in the local economy every year.”
