US President Donald Trump still keen to visit Ireland with a spring date under consideration

The US President Trump has said that he hopes to visit Ireland soon in wake of his recent cancellation.

President Trump who was due to come to Ireland November is reportedly still determined to make the trip within the next few months.

The news of the President’s plans was confirmed by the US Director of Western European Affairs Rob Faucher, who has said that the president was disappointed about the recent cancellation.

Speaking to RTÉ News, Mr Faucher said the US President is still planning to visit Ireland within the coming months and the recent cancellation was not a negative decision but rather an unfortunate one given scheduling reasons.

The Western European Affairs Director also stated that President Trump is looking forward to a visit to Ireland and it could happen as soon as next spring.

Mr Faucher revealed that the US President is planning to visit the country either before or after the annual St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
