The US state of Florida could soon make it illegal for abortions to be carried out once a fetal heartbeat has been detected.
According to ABC News, the Bill which was submitted to the state House in the 10th of January, calls for all abortions except in limited circumstances to be banned once a heartbeat has been detected.
The Bill which is set to be debated this coming March would see doctors or other medical professionals being charged with a third degree felony charge if they were found guilty of carrying out an abortion once a heartbeat had been detected.
The latest move in the US comes just months after the state of Utah submitted a Bill calling for a ban on all abortions once a heartbeat has been detected.
