There was good news for young Irish people thinking of working in the U.S. this summer as the U.S. Embassy confirmed that they will provide an additional 2,600 J1 visa’s in 2017.
The news which will be welcomed by graduates from all across the country, was confirmed by the U.S. Department of State who allocated the extra visa’s to Ireland.
It now means that a total of 7,000, work and travel visa’s will be now made available, the same number allocated in 2015.
To qualify for a visa any prospective traveller must provide proof of their third level degree from a recognised institution along with evidence of a pre-arranged job in the United States.
Once granted access to the U.S. any person with a J1 visa an work in full time employment for up to 12 months.
