The Health Minister Leo Varadkar has yet again made another statement regarding the current overcrowding crisis in Irish hospitals, saying even if was given €100m right away, he could still not fix the problem right away.
The Fine Gael minister was speaking RTE’s 9 o’clock news last night when he made he told the viewing public that he has visited a number of hospitals over the past week as the problem continues to escalate. Mr Varadkar’s comments come ahead of the planned strike action by nurses at emergency departments across the country next week.
The Health Minister told RTE: “Even if I got a cheque for €100 million tomorrow, I won’t be able to build a block overnight. I won’t be able to hire staff overnight.”
