Varadkar launches campaign for abortion on demand while doctors and GAA stars work to save the Eighth

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has launched Fine Gael’s campaign to bring abortion on demand for unborn babies up to three months to Ireland.

The Taoiseach stated at the launch that abortion will still be restricted in Ireland, in that after three months unborn babies will only be allowed to be aborted under “specific circumstance” such as the detection of disabilities such as Down syndrome.

At the same time Gaelic football legend and Tyrone manager Mickey Harte along with several other GAA personalities launched their own campaign to save the eight amendment.

More than 100 doctors, nurses and midwives also met as part of the Medical Alliance for the Eighth to discuss the radical, unrestricted abortion regime the government are intent on bring to Ireland.

“It’s going to be, in effect, abortion on demand on healthy babies and on healthy mothers,” said spokesman Dr Andrew O’Regan said.
