Storm Desmond has been battering the country for the best part of 24 hours forcing many to stay indoors, but there is controversy this evening as a video has surfaced on social media showing two young men jumping off a pier into the stormy sea in Galway this morning.
The shocking and somewhat stupid video was uploaded to Facebook by Galway native Cathal Devlin, who said he posted it to highlight the “madness and stupidity of what these youngsters are doing”. The video showing the youngsters madness has been viewed more than 400,000 times throughout the day with many calling the youngsters actions “foolish”, “idiotic” and downright “stupid”.
The man who captured the video Mr Devlin said he felt that he needed to a make point that “the voluntary and rescue services are kept busy enough without having to worry about this type of stupid behaviour.”
