Voluntary housing group confirm they will build 117 new homes for those currently waiting on Dublin City Council’s waiting list




There was some good news announced for those currently waiting on the housing list as a voluntary group have said they will provide 117 new social homes to families in Dublin.

The news comes as the group named Túath Housing Association revealed they were in the process of purchasing the properties, after they were successfully given funding and loans from the Housing Finance Agency and Department of Environment.

The organisation have been praised for their efforts in the past because they provide over 2,300 social homes across the country with low cost rent schemes costing only €55 per week. The group say thenew units at An Riasc in Finglas and Thornwood in Beaumont will consist of 95 two-, three- and four-bed houses, and 22 two- and three-bed apartments and duplexes.

It is believed the new housing will be exclusively allocated in phased to families currently waiting on Dublin City Council’s housing list.
