Warm weekend in store as Met Eireann say temperatures will reach 19C in most places




It will be an unusually mild weekend across the country this weekend as Met Eireann have revealed the country is set experience a bout of mild weather in the coming days ahead.

According to the national forecaster the vast majority of the country will experience relatively dry weather with temperatures expected to top 19C.

Met Eireann say the bout of mild weather which is normally unexpected at this time of will begin from today and will last throughout the weekend with Saturday looking like the most pleasant of days with sunshine expected.

The forecaster has said today will be mainly dry and bright with the east of the country expected to see the best of the weather with prolonged sunshine expected for most of the day, however the west and the Midlands will experience a much more cloudy day with some rain and light drizzle expected in the afternoon as clouds come in from the Atlantic. 

There will also be some southerly winds expected later on the day that will make it slightly cooler in most areas with temperatures expected to range between 15 to 17C.

Meanwhile Friday will be a warm but cloudy day for most parts although it is expected that the rain will hold off on the East but it will be more persistent in the West with temperatures  expected to range between 16 to 19C.

Met Eireann say the best of the weather will come on Saturday as temperatures will be slightly higher due to very little wind with only slight breezes expected in coastal areas. Although the day will start off cloudy it is expected that sunshine will develop later in the morning and will last until the evening.

Temperatures on Saturday are expected to range from 17 to 19C.
