Gardai have appealed for social media sharing of a warning to motorists to be extra vigilant as temperatures begin to plummet.
Met Eireann have forecast temperatures to plummet tonight and over the weekend, as much as up to -2c.
The quick change in temperature is because of a wave of polar air coming down over the north west coast of the emerald isle and spreading inland as the weekend will progress.
Emmet Devine claims:
“We’re asking road users to be extra vigilant over the coming days as temperatures drop and wintry showers fall.”.
“The message is simple; please slow down”, he concluded.
