Weather to remain largely dry and calm this week, but temperatures are set to plunge to below freezing




The national forecaster is predicting a week of calm and largely dry weather, but temperatures are set to drop significantly from tonight.

There will be scattered rain showers across the country this afternoon, with sunny spells developing mostly in western and northern areas. Daytime temperatures will reach 11 or 12C.

It will get noticeably colder after dark, as temperatures plunge to 0C or just below.
