Met Eireann have advised motorists to be extremely vigilient this morning after last night’s strong winds.
They issued a still-in-place status Orange weather warning for that country, including a marine status orange weather warning.
People are advised to be careful when out and about today as heavy rains and very strong winds are causing dangerous road conditions – particularly on motorways with crosswinds.
The national forecaster said:
“There’ll be sunshine and showers for tomorrow, some of the showers turning heavy with a slight risk of hail and thunder, mostly in the north. Afternoon temperatures will reach around 7 or 8 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty west to southwest winds.”
