Heavy rain continues to fall this morning, particularly in the east and north of the country, with localized flooding and surface water on many roads, so drive carefully this morning if you’re out and about.
Damp and foggy conditions have also been reported elsewhere.
The rain will clear later in the afternoon, and temperatures are expected to reach 15-16C. But heavy, thundery showers will return towards evening.
Bank Holiday Monday is expected to be slightly better, with sunny spells and overall drier conditions. However, the weather patterns are forecast to be very unsettled for the next few days.
